The Arts in Evansville
Renowned American impressionist painter Theodore Robinson
(1852-1896) spent his youth in Evansville and is buried in
Maple Hill Cemetery. Robinson spent six years in Giverny, France, working with Claude Monet.
Well-known contemporary artist John
Wilde (1919-2006), surrealist painter and University of
Wisconsin-Madison professor, resided in Evansville.
Art continues to be a vital part of
Evansville’s fabric, as home to award winning artists,
unique galleries and studios, and spring and fall art
crawls. Enjoy browsing a unique

The annual Fall Studio Tour by the

South Artists includes Evansville, with several local
artists exhibiting.

Store recognize the importance of art in our lives.
