The Eager Free Public Library contains a wide assortment
of periodicals, reference and reading materials. Complete with Internet
capabilities and wi-fi, the library is part of the Arrowhead Library System
that provides access to materials available throughout the State
of Wisconsin.
The Library is named after its original benefactor, Almeron Eager. Built in 1908, it is a fine example of Prairie School architecture.
$4 for every $1:In a May 2008
report, NorthStar Economics reported that "Wisconsin public
libraries contribute to the Wisconsin economy and are of growing
importance to the citizens of the state. The total economic
contribution of Wisconsin libraries to the Wisconsin economy is
$753,669,545. The return on investment in library services is $4.06
in economic return for every dollar of taxpayer investment." Talk
about value!
The report goes on to state that "public libraries play an
important role in the quality of life for a wide range of
