The Library is named after its original benefactor, Almeron Eager.  Built in 1908, it is a fine example of Prairie School architecture.

$4 for every $1:  In a May 2008 report, NorthStar Economics reported that "Wisconsin public libraries contribute to the Wisconsin economy and are of growing importance to the citizens of the state. The total economic contribution of Wisconsin libraries to the Wisconsin economy is $753,669,545. The return on investment in library services is $4.06 in economic return for every dollar of taxpayer investment." Talk about value!

The report goes on to state that "public libraries play an important role in the quality of life for a wide range of communities." From children’s and adult materials, to programs, Internet access, reference assistance, and meeting space, all of which are FREE, your public library is a deal unmatched anywhere. Thanks for your support in keeping Eager Free Public Library serving everyone.
