Meetings are usually on the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00 PM
The Park & Recreation Board is charged with providing outdoor recreation activities and facilities for people in and around Evansville.
In Spring 2007, the PRB created, and City Council approved, a Five-Year Plan to assure thoughtful development of Evansville's park facilities and programs. You can read it here:
Current projects include:
* Building a new "West Side" Park in a field off 6th Street. The project is in its initial phase. Land was graded and seeded for two new regulation-size soccer fields in the fall of 2006. Parts of the park will be ready for use in 2008.
* Constructing a shelter and sanitary facilities and adding playground equipment at Countryside Park on the city's east side.
* Adding new playground equipment and a shelter to and expanding Franklin Park downtown.
* Preparing Lake Leota for dredging and restoration in 2009.
