Welcome to Evansville

The fastest growing community in Rock County, Evansville has maintained its charm and small town friendly atmosphere. Surrounded by farmland and countryside, you can feel the peacefulness as you drive its tree-lined streets. Settled in the 1840s, the town was originally referred to as "The Grove" because of the abundance of maple trees that covered the land. This natural setting is still very evident throughout the city as you'll notice tall trees encompassing the historic homes. Accordingly, Evansville was honored to be named a Tree City by the Arbor Day Foundation in 2002; the designation continues annually.
